General
StockSifting is a free stock analysis and screening platform built for individual US investors. It lets you research NYSE and NASDAQ-listed companies using real financial data — including valuation ratios, profitability metrics, balance sheet health, analyst estimates, dividend history, and multi-year financial statements — all without any paywall or subscription.
Yes, StockSifting is completely free. You can search stocks, view company pages, and use the stock screener without creating an account. Creating a free account gives you access to saved screens and personalisation features.
StockSifting currently covers companies listed on the NYSE (New York Stock Exchange) and NASDAQ — the two largest US equity markets. This includes thousands of publicly traded US companies across all major sectors and industries.
Financial data is sourced from third-party licensed market data providers. This includes real-time and historical price data, fundamental financial statements, analyst estimates, dividend history, and corporate actions. Data may be delayed and is provided for informational purposes only.
Price snapshots and key ratios are refreshed daily via an automated data pipeline. Annual and quarterly financial statements are updated when companies publish new earnings. Analyst estimates are updated as new consensus data becomes available. For precise timestamps, each company page shows a "last updated" indicator.
Stock Screener
The screener supports 30+ financial filters across multiple categories:
- Valuation: P/E Ratio, Forward P/E, EV/EBITDA, Price/Book, Price/Sales
- Profitability: ROE, ROCE, Net Margin, Operating Margin, Gross Margin
- Growth: Revenue Growth, EPS Growth
- Balance Sheet: Debt/Equity, Current Ratio, Quick Ratio
- Market Data: Market Cap, Dividend Yield, 52-Week High/Low
You can combine multiple filters to narrow down stocks that match your specific investment criteria.
Yes. You can browse by sector (e.g., Technology, Healthcare, Financials) and industry (e.g., Semiconductors, Biotechnology, Insurance) using the dedicated Sectors and Industries pages. Each sector/industry page shows all listed companies with their key metrics side by side, making peer comparison straightforward.
A classic value screen typically looks for stocks with a low P/E ratio (e.g., under 15), a P/B ratio below 1.5, strong ROCE and ROE (above 15%), and a healthy Debt/Equity ratio (below 1). On the Screens page, set these filters and sort by market cap or P/E to surface candidates. Always combine screener results with deeper fundamental research before making any investment decision.
Company Analysis
Each company page includes:
- Overview: Current price, market cap, sector, industry, business description
- Valuation Ratios: P/E, Forward P/E, EV/EBITDA, P/B, P/S, EV/Revenue
- Profitability: ROE, ROCE, Net Margin, Operating Margin, Gross Margin
- Financial Statements: Multi-year P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statement
- Analyst Estimates: Consensus rating, target price range, EPS forecasts
- Dividend History: Past dividend payments with ex-dates
- Stock Splits: Historical split record
- 52-Week Range: High and low price band
ROCE (Return on Capital Employed) measures how efficiently a company generates profit from its total capital (equity + debt). It is calculated as EBIT ÷ Capital Employed × 100. A high and consistent ROCE (typically above 15–20%) indicates a business with a competitive moat and pricing power. It is one of the most reliable long-term quality indicators for evaluating businesses, particularly in capital-intensive industries.
The analyst estimates section shows the consensus view from Wall Street analysts covering that stock:
- Recommendation: Strong Buy / Buy / Hold / Sell / Strong Sell — averaged across all analysts
- Target Price: Average, high, and low 12-month price targets
- EPS Estimates: Forecasted earnings per share for current and next fiscal year/quarter
These are forward-looking estimates and carry significant uncertainty. Use them as one input among many, not as investment advice.
StockSifting is currently focused on US-listed companies (NYSE and NASDAQ). Indian stock exchanges (NSE/BSE) are not included in the current database. We may expand coverage in the future — stay tuned.
